Green Build
For the first time in Tulare County, our donors and volunteers will have the opportunity to help support and protect the environment by building our first "green" house. This unique house will include many elements that are environmentally friendly and energy efficient.
As an environmentally sensitive and energy efficient home, the Green House will not only benefit the homeowner family, but the neighborhood and entire community as well. The Green Build house was dedicated on June 7th 2008.
Rotary helps build "Green"!

The Rotary Community Build-A-House Registry, created in partnership with the local Rotary Clubs of Visalia and Tulare and Sam Baker, is an opportunity for our donors to help build a Habitat for Humanity house in Tulare County, by “purchasing” its bits and pieces on-line.* Help provide working families with safe, decent, affordable housing by donating on-line today.
Other partners for the Green Build project include St. Paul's Episcopal Church, First Presbyterian Church of Visalia, the City of Visalia, and Centex Homes. Click here for the wall raising!

Tulare Adult School Building Trades Program
In Fall 2005, Habitat for Humanity of Tulare County formed an exciting partnership with the Tulare Adult School, the City of Tulare and the Tulare County Redevelopment Agency. The program consists of a 9 month Construction Trades program with hands on experience building Habitat for Humanity houses.
A new class of 12 students began in January. Students are at the job site from 8:00 to 11:30 am Monday—Thursday. On Fridays, students are in the classroom taking pre and post tests and taking field trips. Graduates of the 9 month program will have the skills to seek work with local construction companies or start home repair businesses. Students gain additional experience by volunteering on a Habitat job site on Saturdays. Call the Tulare Adult School at 686-0225 for more info.
