Entertaining takes many forms: from the single act of choosing a personal entertainment from the now enormous array of pre-recorded products; to a banquet adapted for two; to a celebration or religious festival; to performances intended for thousands, and even a global audience. Often what appears to be entertainment is actually an aesthetic effect serving a serious purpose, such as satire or ceremony.
